"I am not an artist. My priority is to be aware of the source of life in a tangible and significant way. My practice is to let my eye and hand observe and wander through the natural world around me in order to be continuously reminded of the ever changing, infinite and chaotic order of the universe"

“I trust that the marks I make right now will create some structure, like when an oak tree grows from an acorn, it doesn’t know it will become an oak tree, it just becomes one. The drawings grow like a seed, I make a mark...and keep making marks.”

“Keesey accepts the elements of chance and inaccuracies the minute his hand begins to move and the ink and paint flow and build up on the surface. Rather than forcing what he knows onto the picture, he allows the image to draw itself out.”
